development officers within their specific regions. One person will
handle New York (specifically NYC), and the other will be responsible
for Boston and Philadelphia. Both positions will require approximately
50% of time in region and 50% at The Jackson Laboratory
headquarters in Bar Harbor, Maine. This position is responsible for
developing and extending both donor and volunteer bases, and will
identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors in the geographic area. The
New York position will entail significant management of local resources,
and major gifts work.

To be considered for these positions, you must have 5-7 years
minimum development experience, preferably in major gifts, and have
the background and people skills to deal with well known public
personalities as well as existing and potential corporate and individual
donors. You must be a strong public speaker, and recruitment and
management of events and volunteer staff is a critical part of this
position. A BA/BS degree is required, and an advanced degree is a
