The group program typically is structured around either a 1 or 2 day seminar for groups of 5 to 25 persons. Multiple seminars are often run concurrently to accommodate larger reductions in force. While we strongly recommend an off-site location, seminars may be offered at the employer’s facility to accommodate budgetary constraints or affected individuals who are still working with the company for a number of weeks following notification.

Seminars are tailored to the individual position classifications as much as possible, although a comprehensive review of all job search related areas is offered. With a 2 day seminar, a greater emphasis is placed on activity-based learning and individual resume development. Client companies may also choose to offer 1-2 hour followupworkshops/meetings in the weeks after the initial seminar to facilitate networking or review a specific area of concern to participants. Individual telephone or in-person followup sessions are also available to supplement group learning.

Emphasis is placed on creating a learning sanctuary in which participants feel relatively safe to share, learn, and support each other. Participants are polled at the outset to allow some tailoring of content to group interests, although a comprehensive program is covered. Workbooks, electronic resume samples, and handouts are all included among the physical take-aways from the sessions.

  • Interviewing and Negotiating.
